Obituary for Ververs, Henry C.
Auburn/Palmyra: Henry C. Ververs, 84, on Jan. 18, 2015, went home to join his beloved Lord. He was predeceased by his daughter Deborah Pluta (2002) and an infant son. He was born in Williamson, NY and obtained his degree from RIT. He was employed for over 37 years with Garlock, Palmyra, NY. He was a beloved husband and the best dad and grandfather anyone could ever have. He will always be remembered for his love of gardening and the outdoors, camping and his wood working skills. He will be remembered by so many. If a person is measured by thekind things they have done for others, Hank Ververs would be a giant. We will all miss him greatly. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Pearl (Larwood) Ververs; one son, Douglas (Jane) Ververs, Auburn, NY, son-in-law Wesley Pluta; grandson Dr. James (Erica) Ververs, Winston-Salem, NC; and granddaughter Kristin (Robert) Geroux, Brighton, NY; many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Henry C. Ververs be made to The United Church of Marion, PO Box 52 Marion, NY 14505-0052; or Pines of Peace 2378 Ridge Road, Ontario, NY; or Friends of the Big Six Picnic % Ward O'Hara Agricultural Museum, 6680 East Lake Road, Auburn, NY 13021. Friends and family may call Wednesday, Jan. 21 from 2 to 4 PM at The United Church of Marion, 3848 North Church Street, Marion. Funeral will be at 2 PM Thursday, Jan. 22 in United Church of Marion with Rev. Paul Smith officiating. Spring interment at the convenience of the family will be in the East Palmyra cemetery.
