Palmyra: ​Entered into rest on May 26, 2016 at the age of 97. Richard (Dick) is survived by his loving daughter, Joan Parker; sisters, Bertha Main and Esther Rush; brother, Oscar Ruebens; sister-in-law, Mary Young; nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Predeceased by wife Jessie Young Ruebens; parents, Alphonse and Louise Van De Veire Ruebens; sister, Clara Main; brothers, Robert Ruebens and Raymond Ruebens; sisters-in-law, Ruth Hall, Dorothy Ruebens, Virginia Ruebens, Alice Swan, Esca Young and Phyllis Young; brothers-in-law, George Hall, Harold Main, Leonard Main, Russell Rush, Albert Young, Ernest Young, Herman Young and Edgar Swan.
​Richard worked on the family farm and also worked for almost 40 years at Garlock Packing,Inc..
​He enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, horseback riding, woodworking and sharing the love of their Boston Terriers. Richard was an inventor and problem solver who was always ready to lend a hand to both family and friends while sharing his knowledge and skills.
​Richard was known for the special closeness he shared with Jessie, his wife of 73 years.
​Friends and family are invited to call 4-8 pm Wednesday June 1st at Stevens Funeral Home, 3896 Buffalo St., Marion, where Funeral Services will be held 1pm Thursday.
