Palmyra: Entered into rest on May 26, 2016 at the age of 97. Richard (Dick) is survived by his loving daughter, Joan Parker; sisters, Bertha Main and Esther Rush; brother, Oscar Ruebens; sister-in-law, Mary Young; nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Predeceased by wife Jessie Young Ruebens; parents, Alphonse and Louise Van De Veire Ruebens; sister, Clara Main; brothers, Robert Ruebens and Raymond Ruebens; sisters-in-law, Ruth Hall, Dorothy Ruebens, Virginia Ruebens, Alice Swan, Esca Young and Phyllis Young; brothers-in-law, George Hall, Harold Main, Leonard Main, Russell Rush, Albert Young, Ernest Young, Herman Young and Edgar Swan.
Richard worked on the family farm and also worked for almost 40 years at Garlock Packing,Inc..
He enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, horseback riding, woodworking and sharing the love of their Boston Terriers. Richard was an inventor and problem solver who was always ready to lend a hand to both family and friends while sharing his knowledge and skills.
Richard was known for the special closeness he shared with Jessie, his wife of 73 years.
Friends and family are invited to call 4-8 pm Wednesday June 1st at Stevens Funeral Home, 3896 Buffalo St., Marion, where Funeral Services will be held 1pm Thursday.
