Survived by his cherished wife of 50 years, Flora Fisk; daughters, Erica Fisk, Candace (Roger) Deally, son, Richard Fisk (Krystin LaPage); grandchildren, Alexander Fisk, Jacob (Olivia) Fletcher, Danielle Benoit, Logan Deally, Miles Fisk, Zane Fisk, great-grandchildren, Harper and Charles Fisk, Avery and Payton Fletcher; sister, Daina (Volker) Heyde; brothers, Denny (Dawn) Fisk, Jack Fisk; sister, Joan Fisk; sister-in- law, Merilee Fisk; many nieces and nephews.
Dick was born to Caroline and George Fisk on September 13, 1950 in Newark, NY. He grew up in rural Marion, NY as part of a large farming family. The Fisk family farm was a gathering place for many of the neighboring youth. Dick was known to have a favorite cow and enjoyed the cultivation of the earth eventually spending a year studying agriculture in college. He was a member of the class of 1969 at Marion Central School.
Like many young men of his time he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Some of his fondest memories of his time in the service were his appointments in the Philippines and Eglin Air Force Base in the Florida Panhandle. In 1973 he met Flora VerDow. The couple began their 50 year marriage on April 24, 1974. The family moved to Florida in 1985.
Dick worked as a mason before becoming a dedicated over the road truck driver. Over the span of his 40 plus years in his career, he drove for Seneca Foods and Frito Lay. Those who knew the “Potato Chip Man”would often remark on his kind friendly demeanor. Dick was always hard at work. Duty, loyalty, and dedication to family and home were hallmarks for him. He was the assistant coach of the little league team, the dad in the front row at the concert, the dad who would stay up all night when his kids were sick and the husband who would handyman his wife’s visions into beautiful reality. Dick was a past-commander of the Marion American Legion Post #1430 in Marion, NY.
The Fisk family will forever cherish the loving, dedicated, one in a million man that we were honored to call Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Father-in-law, brother and Uncle.
There will be no prior calling hours, at the convenience of the family, a Celebration of Richard (Dick) Seward Fisk will be announced at a later date.
