Wattengel, Marjorie (Marge) L.
Niagara Falls: Entered into rest on 7/1/2017 at the age of 91 after a brief illness.
She is predeceased by her parents, Marguerite and John Leigh; husband, Jerald A.
Wattengel; son, John Wattengel; brother, Arthur Leigh; ( died on the same day).
She is survived by daughter, Nancy (Keith) LeFevre; of Marion, grandsons, Jeff and Brad
LeFevre; of Marion, several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Marjorie lived in Niagara Falls/Lewiston, graduated from William Smith College,
received a M.A. from Buffalo State, was a case worker for Niagara Falls Department of
Social Services and later stayed home to raise her children. She volunteered
at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, served on the Board of Family and
Children’s Services, and was a life long member of Zion Lutheran Church where
she worked on the Christmas Bazaar and other activities. She loved learning,
and was a member of the Lewiston Historical Society, Monday Club and
The Tatler. She loved the outdoors, spending summers at her family’s cottage with
family and friends. Family and friends were Marge’s focus, she loved to cook and
entertain through the years. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 8 at 11:00AM at the Zion Lutheran Church, 1010 Michigan Ave., Niagara Falls, NY 14305. In lieu
of flowers, memorial donations may be made to WNED (Public Television),
Horizons Plaza, P.O. 1263, Buffalo, NY. 14240-1263, or charity of one’s choice.
