Karl Richard Witter, 73, of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on April 22, 2025 of complications resulting from a fall. He was born on February 29, 1952 in Clifton Springs, New York to Richard and Gloria Witter.
Karl was generous and kind: one of those people who would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. He spent his early years in Marion, New York and then went to high school in Red Creek, New York after his family moved there. He graduated from Red Creek High School in 1970 and attended Alfred Technical College where he received a degree in drafting. He worked for Eastman Kodak before enlisting in the United States Army. He served ten years as a Laboratory Specialist working in test, development, and research. After his stint in the Army, he worked for Charles Schwab and John’s Hopkins Hospital. He moved to New Orleans in 2018 where he resided until his death.
Karl Witter is survived by his sister, Janis Witter Rice (Joe Rice), and his wife Wendy Leigh (her daughter Lee). He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Gloria Witter; brother, Jay Witter; and sister Karen Witter.
A graveside memorial service will be held on June 28th at 12:00 pm on Cemetery Lane in the Marion cemetery, Marion, New York.
