June L. Ver Plank
MARION: Joined her beloved husband, Charles of 53 years on Wednesday,
February 26, 2020 at the age of 77. She is pre-deceased by her parents,
James and Anna DeVoogt. She is survived by her loving children, Susanne
Milliman, Charles (Valgeen) Ver Plank, Phyllis (Michael) Ertel, Marsha Ver Plank
16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Also survived by sisters, Gloria (Roy) Huling, Diane (Bob) DeLyser, Cynthia (Ralph)
Minnick, brother-in-law, Roger (Marcia) Ver Plank; and special uncle, Donald (Jean)
VanKouwenberg.
June was a school bus driver for more than 30 years and considered the students on
her bus as “her kids.” She was an active member of the Second Reformed Church of
Marion and enjoyed working with the children at Vacation Bible School each year. June
was a hard worker and avid gardener who shared the “fruits” of her labor with everyone,
most notably her beautiful bouquets of gladiolus. June was a devoted mother, grandmother
and great-grandmother. Her family was her greatest and most loved treasure.
Relatives and friends may call on Friday, March 13 from 3-7pm at the Second Reformed
Church, 3757 Mill Street, Marion. A funeral service will be held at the church on Saturday,
March 14th at 10:00am. Interment at Marion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in
June’s memory may be made to Second Reformed Church Memorial Fund, 3757 Mill
