Obituary for Jane Elizabeth Wadsworth DeCracker

In Loving Memory of Jane Elizabeth Wadsworth DeCracker

May 20, 1934 – June 17, 2025

The Lord welcomed Jane home to her eternal rest, following a brief illness. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her devoted family and a heartfelt final “Amen.” Jane was predeceased by her father, Andrew Wadsworth; and her mother, Gladys Mook Wadsworth;. Her brothers, Milton Wadsworth (Dorthy and Misty), Phil Wadsworth (Lois), Eleanor Poray, and Henry Felker.

Jane is survived by her loving husband, Ronald (Rocky) DeCracker; and their four children, Mark (Diane) DeCracker, Beth (Robert) Whitbeck, Sherry (Scott) Kearns, and Kimberly (Keith) Gardner; as well as Jane’s sister, Andrea Felker. Jane is survived by her fourteen grandchildren, Jessica (Seth) Burgess, Colleen (Terry) Monje, Hannah (Ryan) DeCracker, Jason (Amanda) Whitbeck, Corey (Christopher) Garcia, Meghan (Eric) Westfall, Kimberly (Ryan) Whitbeck-Drake, Kara (Andrew) Pederzolli, Renee (Brandon) Laws, Ashlee Williams, Jacob (Carol) Williams, Hayley (Phillip) Darcangelis, Alexis Bartkowiak and Drew McUmber.

Jane lived a life filled with love, service, and simple joys. Born and raised in Wolcott, NY, she graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1951 and proudly earned her nursing degree from the Genesee Nursing Program in 1954. Nursing wasn’t just her profession — it was her calling. Her greatest fulfillment came as a nursing instructor. Her life outside of work was rich with faith, family, and community. A longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lyons, Jane sang joyfully in the church choir and found deep purpose in worship and fellowship. She was also a proud member and secretary of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Her interests reflected the beauty of a life well-lived: birdwatching from her window, cheering on the New York Mets, tending her flower gardens, traveling and making memories with her family. Above all, Jane’s heart belonged to her family. She was blessed to share 71 years of loving marriage with the love of her life, Ron — a partnership grounded in faith and friendship. She was a steadfast supporter of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always loving and supporting them.

There will be no prior calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held 11AM, Saturday, June 21st at the First Presbyterian Church of Lyons, 11 Queen St., Lyons, NY 14489. A reception to follow at Trombino’s Restaurant, 12 Pearl St., Lyons, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the First Presbyterian Church of Lyons.
