MARION: Entered into rest on October 27, 2024 at the age of 81. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Yvonne; daughter, Michelle (Gary) Everdyke, son, Gerald M. (Laura) Ameele; grandchildren, Jessica (Eric), Matthew, Jamie, Abram, Heaven, Kailani (Steven), Kelli-Jo (Amber); great-granddaughter, Emersyn; brothers, Jim (Sue) Ameele, Paul (Cheryl) Ameele; sister, Linda (Chuck) DePoint; dad’s cat, Nola; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Gerald retired from Marion Highway Department as the highway superintendent for 35 years, and is a member of the Calvary Church of Newark.
Friends and family are invited to a graveside service at 1pm Saturday, November 2nd, at the Marion Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Lane, Marion, NY 14505. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Samaritan’s Purse, 801 Bamboo Rd., PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607 or Humane Society of Wayne County, 1475 County House Rd., Lyons, NY 14489.
