Obituary for DePoint, Jacob
DePoint, Jacob Marion, NY: Passed away peacefully on July 29th 2015 at age 95. Jacob was born in Groede a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland in the Netherlands. Jacob immigrated to this country in 1922 through Ellis Island to Marion where he lived his entire life. Predeceased by his wife whom he married in March 1945, Mary Van Wyk (1968), and his sons Donald (1999) and Gary (1980). Also predeceased were his parents Maude and Izaac DePoint; siblings Isaac, John and Betty Lutyne. Jacob is survived by his children Richard, David, Robert, Jayne, Gordon, Paul, Charles, Kenneth, Martin, Neal, Ann Sullivan (DePoint), Karl, Janet Bristol (DePoint) and Amy Klino (DePoint). He is also survived by several other family members, including, in-laws, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A private graveside ceremony will be held at the Marion Cemetery on Wednesday August 12th. Family and friends, please join us at 12:30pm Wednesday August 12th in the celebration of Jacob's life at his house where he lived for 62 years at 3278 Shilling Rd in Marion. Contributions may be made in Jacob's name to Pines of Peace, 2378 Ridge Road, Ontario, NY 14519.
